研究室への参加をお考えの方へ ― Join the Ito Laboratory
伊藤研究室には、研究生・正規生（修士課程・博士課程）・ポスドク（博士研究員）として参加する道があります。それぞれの手続きと、私たちが重視する点をまとめました。
You can join the Ito Laboratory as a research student, as a degree student (master's or doctoral) or as a postdoctoral researcher. Below are the procedures for each path and what we look for.
01 / RESEARCH STUDENTS
研究生 ― About Research Students
合意情報学分野では、研究生として、興味ある研究を進めていただくことを期待しています。

研究生の出願 / Applying for Research Students
研究生の出願については、教務係のウェブサイトに掲載されている出願要項をご確認の上、必要な書類等をご準備ください。
For applying as a research student, please refer to the application guidelines posted on the academic affairs office's website and prepare the necessary documents accordingly.
大学院入試へ / For Graduate School
研究生として入学した後、大学院への進学を希望する場合は、教務係のウェブサイトに記載されている募集要項を参照し、必要な書類などをご準備ください。
If you wish to pursue graduate studies after enrolling as a research student, please refer to the application guidelines listed on the academic affairs office's website and prepare the necessary documents accordingly.
文部科学省（MEXT）奨学金について / About the MEXT scholarship
文部科学省（MEXT）の国費外国人留学生奨学金は、非常に競争が激しい制度です。京都大学からの推薦（大学推薦）はさらに競争が激しく、獲得はほぼ不可能です。あなたの国の日本大使館からの推薦（大使館推薦）を得ることはできますか。ただし、大使館推薦を得て奨学金の資格を得た場合でも、情報学研究科の入学試験を受ける必要があり、合格しなければ入学できません。
The Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) scholarship program is extremely competitive. Recommendations from Kyoto University are even more competitive and virtually impossible to obtain. Will you be able to secure a recommendation from your country’s embassy? However, even if you do receive an embassy recommendation and qualify for the scholarship, you will still need to take the entrance exam for the Graduate School of Informatics; if you do not pass, you will not be admitted.

研究生のやること / What Research Students Should Do
研究室のオリエンテーションに参加 / Participate in laboratory orientation
来日後、研究室のオリエンテーションに参加し、研究活動の展開を準備します。
After arriving in Japan, participate in laboratory orientation to prepare for the development of research activities.
研究計画の作成 / Research Plan Preparation
入試に向けて、研究目的と計画を明確にするための研究計画書を作成します。この計画書は、指導教員に提出し、フィードバックを得て修正して、研究生期間の研究活動の基礎となります。
In preparation for the entrance examination, the student will prepare a research plan to clarify his/her research objectives and plans. This plan will be submitted to your faculty advisor for feedback and revision, and will serve as the basis for your research activities during your period as a research student.
進捗報告 / Progress report
指導教員のご指導の下、研究を行い、研究進捗を研究室のゼミで報告します（または指導教員に直接報告）。
Under the guidance of your supervisor, you will conduct research and report your research progress in a laboratory seminar (or directly to your supervisor).
進捗報告書の提出 / Submission of progress report
研究進捗により、各学期の終わりに研究進捗をまとめて進捗報告書を指導教員に提出してください。
Depending on the research progress, a progress report summarizing the research progress is submitted to the supervisor at the end of each semester.
外国語の学習 / Foreign Language Study
日本での生活、入試や研究に必要な日本語能力、または英語能力（プログラムによる）を向上させるための準備をしてください。
Prepare to improve your Japanese or English language skills (depending on the program) for life in Japan, entrance examinations and research.

試験までのプロセス / Process up to the examination
研究計画書の最終版の提出 / Submission of a final version of your research proposal
試験に出願する前に、研究計画書の改善版を指導教員に提出してください。
Submit an improved version of your research proposal to your academic advisor before applying for the exam.
面接の準備 / Interview Preparation
提出された研究計画書を基に、発表練習を行い、教員から得たコメントに従って、研究計画書を修正して、最終版を出願の資料として、指導教員に提出してください。
Based on the submitted research plan, practice your presentation, revise your research plan according to the comments obtained from the faculty member, and submit the final version to your academic advisor as material for your application.
02 / DEGREE STUDENTS
正規生（修士課程・博士課程） ― Degree Students
修士課程・博士課程の学生として研究室に所属するには、京都大学大学院情報学研究科の入学試験に合格する必要があります。
To join the laboratory as a master's or doctoral student, you must pass the entrance examination of the Graduate School of Informatics, Kyoto University.

入学試験を受ける / Take the entrance examination
情報学研究科 社会情報学コースの入学試験を受験してください。募集要項・出願期間・試験科目は情報学研究科の入試案内で公開されています。博士後期課程についても同様に、情報学研究科の入学試験に合格する必要があります。
Take the entrance examination of the Social Informatics Course, Graduate School of Informatics. Application guidelines, deadlines and examination subjects are published on the Graduate School of Informatics admissions page. Admission to the doctoral program likewise requires passing the graduate school's entrance examination.

志望分野に「SI-5」を指定する / Choose “SI-5” as your preferred group
出願時には志望する研究分野を指定します。伊藤研究室（合意情報学分野）を希望する場合は、志望分野として SI-5 を記入してください。
When you apply, you indicate the research group you wish to join. If you wish to join the Ito Laboratory (Consensus Informatics), list SI-5 as your preferred group.

配属は試験の成績で決まる / Assignment depends on your examination results
研究室への配属は、入学試験の成績に基づいて決まります。成績によっては希望どおり SI-5 に配属されますが、成績次第では希望と異なる分野に配属されることもあります。希望する研究室に入るためにも、入学試験に向けて十分に準備してください。
Assignment to a laboratory is based on your entrance examination results. Depending on your scores you may be assigned to SI-5 as requested, but assignment as requested is not guaranteed. Please prepare thoroughly for the examination so that you can join the laboratory you hope for.

03 / POSTDOCTORAL RESEARCHERS
ポスドク（博士研究員） ― Postdoctoral Researchers
研究室の研究プロジェクトやフェローシップを通じて、博士研究員として参加する道があります。私たちが特に重視するのは次の点です。
Postdoctoral researchers join us through our research projects or through fellowships. These are the qualities we value most.

ビジョンを共有できること / Sharing our vision
人とAIエージェントが互いに合意し、協力する集団的知性「AI-powered Collective Intelligence」という研究室のビジョンを共有し、マルチエージェントシステム、自動交渉、合意形成支援、大規模言語モデル、メカニズムデザインといった研究室のテーマに、自らの問いをもって主体的に取り組めることを重視します。
We look for researchers who share our vision of AI-powered collective intelligence, in which people and AI agents reach agreement and cooperate, and who bring their own questions to the laboratory's themes: multiagent systems, automated negotiation, consensus building, large language models and mechanism design.

国際的に活躍できること / Working internationally
英語で研究を進め、国際会議や国際ジャーナルで成果を発表し、海外の研究者との共同研究を担えることが重要です。研究室には多くの国から学生・研究者が集まっており、日常的に英語で議論しています。
You should be able to conduct research in English, publish at international conferences and in international journals, and lead collaborations with researchers abroad. Our laboratory brings together students and researchers from many countries, and discussions take place in English every day.

実務の経験があること / Practical experience
研究室では、高い理想を目指す理論研究と、厳しい現実を直視する社会実装の両方を追求しています。産業界・行政・実証プロジェクトなどで研究を実世界に適用した実務経験を高く評価します。
We pursue both theoretical research that aims high and real-world implementation that faces hard realities. We highly value practical experience of applying research in the real world, for example in industry, in government or in field projects.
そのほかに求めること / Other expectations
博士号（または着任までの取得見込み）、研究を自立して推進し学生の指導にも関わる姿勢、そしてチームで協働する力を求めます。
We expect a doctoral degree (or one to be completed before joining), the ability to drive research independently while helping to mentor students, and a collaborative attitude.

研究プロジェクトによる雇用の募集がある場合は、お知らせに掲載します。日本学術振興会（JSPS）の特別研究員・外国人特別研究員などのフェローシップによる受け入れは随時ご相談ください。いずれの場合も、履歴書、研究業績リスト、研究計画（1〜2ページ）、研究室のテーマとの関連を添えて、研究室主宰者（伊藤）までメールでご連絡ください。
Openings funded by our research projects are announced on the News page. We also welcome enquiries at any time about joining through fellowships such as the JSPS Research Fellowships, including those for overseas researchers. In either case, please e-mail the principal investigator (Prof. Ito) with your CV, publication list, a one- to two-page research plan and a note on how your work relates to the laboratory's themes.
